More Kmart Deals!

I finally got through the rest of the ads--if you didn't see what I added to the previous post since this morning, go back and check. The Kmart ad made mention of the $4.99 clearance that I posted about on Sunday, but they are also doubling coupons (up to $2).

They also have a promotion where if you spend $35 on P&G products, you will get a $10 coupon.

This could really maximize your savings when you use all the awesome coupons from the Brand Saver that came out on Sunday. I haven't crunched all the numbers, but I still think the Target deal with $5 gift card for every two products still works out better than this. It will depend on the actual prices of the products that you buy.

If you only have one store or the other, or if one is more convenient, I do think both are worth the visit.

I just looked up a Kmart coupon matchup because I'm not a regular Kmart shopper, so you can see their scenarios at this link.  Love the tagline in her blog, "Find another checkout lane, honey."  I felt like I needed that disclaimer every time I went to Target last week.

FREE This Week 2/28-3/6

Here's our Monday morning bright spot. What can you get free this week?  Remember to check out some of the other great bloggers who do coupon matchups for a full list.  I'm just rounding up the freebies.

  • Dentyne Gum 3 pack.  $1.79 each, use 75 cent Target printable coupon and $1 coupon from the Sunday circular.  OK, they're 4 cents, but close enough!

This is a great time to stock up on a lot of household staples.  They have the gift card deals with purchase AND the P&G Brand Saver coupons came out in yesterday's paper.  If you still have some from the last brand savers, you can maximize by getting out today before they expire. Some of the brands included: Pantene, Charmin, Bounty, Luvs, Gain, Tampax, Iams, Crest, and Poise.  All have a $5 gift card when you buy 2.

  • Most of the freebies from Menards that I posted last week are still available this week because that was a 2 week ad, so add them to your list if you missed last week.   I'm listing them again, but you won't be able to do them again if you already have.
  • Reusable shopping bags, 98 cents each, 98 cent rebate, 10 allowed per household.
  • Vinyl Mini Blinds 23x42, $2 each, $2 rebate, 2 allowed per household.

Kmart Smokin' Clothing Deals

I'm not a regular Kmart shopper, but I happened into a store last night and found a bonanza of bargains. You may want to go and check it out at your local store.  Here are some of the best deals that I saw:
  • ALL fall and winter clothes were $4.99 OR LESS.  I was able to find a huge selection of clothing.
  • In the mens section, they had long underwear, lots of nice pajama sets, hooded sweatshirts, fleeces, flannels, jackets, jeans, sweaters, and long sleeved T-shirts (a nice heavy weight)-- every bit of it was $4.99, though they had some sweatshirts for $2.99 each.
  • In the womens section, lots and lots of dress pants, jeans, sweaters, dressy blouses.  It seemed like all the brands were included.
  • In the childrens section, pretty well every piece of clothing, though $4.99 for kids' clothes is still a little high when I'm bargain shopping.
  • Shoes and boots!  All the clearance slippers, boots and shoes were an additional 50% off the lowest marked price.  There were a lot of Ugg look-alikes that were under $10 after all the discounts.
  • Clearanced toys were an additional 20% off.
  • There were other deals throughout the store, but I didn't have time to check out everything there.
  • Online, a quick search for Joe Boxer (most of the good pj sets were that brand) shows that some of these deals are also available online, and I even see some free shipping on some of the items.
If you stop in and see something to add to the list, let me know.  I'll be glad to put in more items to look out for.

Last Chance at Amazon February Grocery Deals

That UNILVR77 code is expiring on February 28, and they've restocked ALL the types of Skippy Peanut butter. Of course they'll sell out quickly again, but give it a shot. This deal comes out to around $8 for 6 jars of peanut butter, which is one of the best prices I've ever seen.

We already have enough jars of peanut butter in my house to stick together a million jaws. The expiration dates are into 2012, so we're good for a while here. Here are the ones included--almost all types for now.

There are also some Ragu pasta sauces that have returned to stock--No, they sold out while I typed.

More peanut butter?

And Community coffee, this is three 12 oz bags, and there's a $3 coupon listed under the price, making it a great deal. There are a few other varieties, but they keep going in and out of stock as well.

Stock up while the prices are good! Remember that you will need to do subscribe and save for the first 15% off on most of these, then use code UNILVR77 in order to get the additional discount. You may have to purchase one at a time in order to get the S&S discount to work, and remember that you can always adjust your S&S or cancel at any time.

If you've been reading my blog for a while, you already know that you can get free Amazon prime shipping in a few ways. The easiest way is Amazon Mom.  It's usually for 3 months, but you can get it extended every time you spend $25 in the baby store.  You can also get a free prime account if you have a .edu email address.

Prime shipping will get you free two day shipping on almost anything that Amazon sells.

FREE Toddler Resources

We love Wild Animal Baby magazine here, and they have a new Facebook page with lots of free learning resources for toddlers and pre-schoolers.  Be sure to click LIKE so you can check out all the free activities.

The magazines are small with hard pages to make them a lot more child-friendly. I'd wait for a deal on the price, though you could use the Feb magazine deal to save.

The other great item is a local one. Gates Hall in Nevada will host a Toddler Fest on Saturday from 10-noon. We've attended before, and there are a lot of fun activities geared toward younger children. Each child will also receive a free book.

Deals From My Inbox, 2/17

There may be a lot of these, with Presidents' Day coming up. Here are some of the best I see:

  • Victoria's Secret has their body care 7 for $35, and if you shop in store, you'll also get one more item for free.  That brings the price for their lotions and body washes down under $5 each, which is a great deal!
  • Family Four Pack coupon from Incredible Pizza Place (you can only print one) will get you 4 meals, 4 drinks, and $30 in game play for $39.99!  Looks like a great deal.
  • 3 pages of good organic food product coupons
  • DEAL25 will get you 25% off at Shoes.com, and they have kids Uggs an extra 30% off right now.
  • I'll add this to my calendar (wish I'd seen it earlier in the month): Pottery Barn Kids at Jordan Creek Mall has story time every Tuesday at 11 am.  It says through the end of the month, but check back and see if it continues after this month.
  • Another one from Jordan Creek, Thursdays at 10 am, Creative Kidstuff will have a story time. They also have this: Creative Kidstuff Presents Fun Time Saturday Let's Make Music Saturday, February 19th 1pm-3pm-- Free -- Stop in to any of your local Creative Kidstuff and create a fun music maker.
  • Here are a few good printable coupons to go with the sales: $10 off $50 at Aeropostale, 20% off one item at Vanity, buy one get one free on the big candles from Yankee Candle.
  • Buy one item at Express and get a second item for 50% off. Plus, take $15 off $75, $30 off $150, or $45 off $225 with code 1084.
  • Sears, get 10% off many items with code HOMESALE or free shipping with code USA
  • CalvinKlein.com has 30% off everything through 2/21.  No code needed.

I will be adding more to this post later, so check back!

    Amazon Presidents' Day Sale

I will be back later to pretty this up, but there is a great sale right now on Amazon for Presidents' Day. They have discounts on already discounted clothes, and shoes and boots 70% off.

Video Game Deal Deserves New Look

Here's something I had forgotten, but I was looking at "Just Dance" and remembered that there was another promotion that was included with it. So, that video game deal I mentioned yesterday, with those games on sale--when you purchase one, you'll get another game for 30% off.

Your first one has to be one of these:

After that, you have a large list of games that will get the discount of 30% off.  Some of these are already on sale, so the second discount is icing on the cake.  You can read all the details of the promotion here, and here are some of the titles that would maximize the discount.  You could get Just Dance Kids and Toy Story 3 for right around $30!

Be sure to check it out for yourself.  The second list is over 200 titles.

    Amazon 3DS Preorder Deal

So, I was checking out the new Nintendo 3DS on Amazon, and I noticed that they have a really great deal going on with their pre-order. It looked too good not to pass on.

You can trade in your old Nintendo DS platform for up to a $100 credit when you pre-order the new Nintendo 3DS.  It's a few different pieces of information, so bear with me as I try to explain and get all the proper links in place.  Just click the applicable link.
    • Trade in a used DSI XL, and get $100 in Amazon credit.
    • Trade in a used DSi, and get $75 in Amazon credit.
    • Trade in a used DS Lite, and get $50 in Amazon credit.
    • And here is the link to pre-order the new Nintendo 3DS for $249.99.  My guess is that this will work like any other new video gaming platform, and the price will be the same at every store.  Because of this, one of these trade-in programs might be your best deal.
It comes out March 27, so you've got a little time to think about it.
There are also a lot of games available for pre-order here.  I'd look for some great deals when the new 3DS comes out in March.

    KinderNature -- Free Teaching Resources

We have used the fun programs of Story County Conservation many times. They have a lot of great classes for children of all ages, and most are free or a nominal fee.  I usually make sure to put their events in my calendar on the right, and I just got their latest flyer with information on upcoming activities.

Yesterday, I attended a presentation given by SCC, and learned about a great new (to me) resource that would be great even for people who aren't able to get to one of their campsKinderNature is listed as a resource for early educators.  They have many ideas for group and one on one activities, both indoor and outdoor, that teach about nature, incorporating math and science learning at an age appropriate level.  Check out their site for more information.

The site is fun and free for you to use, but they also offer some webinars that educators can attend online and receive credit for training and licensing.

    FREE Childcare on Valentine's Day!

Well, here's a terrific freebie, compliments of the North Grand Christian Church in Ames. They are offering free child care (for children over 2) between 5:30 and 8 pm on Valentine's Day if you worship with them at 10:15 am on Sunday, February 13.

If you are interested in learning more about it, you can check their webpage at ngccames.org.

    =============================

I'm working on the calendar right now, adding more fun family events. Please check back later for opportunities to cure your cabin fever.

    More Great Grocery Deals, 2/9

The Skippy peanut butter deal is back and better--at least for me. We only use Skippy Natural here, so I was thrilled to see the prices so low. This is 6 jars of peanut butter for under $8 when you get 15% off with subscribe and save and another 15% off with the code UNILVR77.

These deals seem to sell out fast, then restock, then sell out, so the deal will only work if the peanut butter is sold through Amazon. I was able to do this deal this morning, but right now it is sold out. Check back in a little while and see if you can get in on it.

Another good deal is this Ragu sauce. It comes down to under $2 per 45 oz. jar when you do the subscribe and save. Again, remember that you have to select the one sold through Amazon to get the discounts.

There are a few good cereal and granola bar deals as well.

Use code NATVALLY on the granola bars--only through 2/14, though!

    February 8, 2011

Old Navy Kids and Baby Sale + Coupon

Old Navy is starting a huge sale for clothing for kids and babies, and they have a great coupon to go with it. You can get 25% off a single item, or 35% off if you use your Old Navy card.  Looks like you can also use code KBSALE25 or ONCKB35 online.

    Fareway Great Grocery Giveaway

Link to the newest Grocery Giveaway is here...

I have been meaning to post about this since it started on February 3, but somehow keep forgetting. WHO (Channel 13) is giving away $100 from Fareway every day for a month, and some lucky person will receive free groceries for a year.

You need to submit a keyword in order to enter.  You can get that keyword by watching the weather between 6 and 7 am every weekday morning, or you can ask at your local Fareway meat counter.  Read more about the contest, enter the contest (daily), and check out the winners at this link.

And--while you're hitting this page daily to remember to enter the contest, could you also vote for Reiman Gardens in Ames?  This is the last month for the contest, and they've fallen from first place.

Vote, so they can continue to offer great new things to see!  It's a great opportunity for family entertainment, and it is constantly changing.  Here's a picture of their newest exhibit.  The leafcutter ants inside the picnic basket cut pieces of leaves off on one side, carry them through the tube, and bring them over to use to grow their food.  They will also have giant insects invading the garden this summer.

$2 Free Downloads in Amazon MP3

Just in time for Valentine's Day, get $2 in free MP3 downloads from Amazon. Good through 2/14, enter code VDAYMP3S on this page.

You can use that to get some of the best MP3 deals--
    • As I posted last week, there are lots of free downloads.  Here is the list of top sellling whole album free downloads.
    • Here's a great list of free Valentine's Day downloads to check out as well.
    • I was pretty excited about the 69 cent 80s pop songs, but here are some great 90s rock songs on the 69 cent list.
    • You'd have to pay a little, but there are a lot of great $5 downloads.  I see quite a few I love on here.

Take a look for yourself and find what you like!

    February 5, 2011

    40% off Already Clearanced Clothes

At Amazon, use code FORTYOFF to save an additional 40% on already clearanced clothing items. Remember that they have to be sold by Amazon in order to qualify. Here are all the links, then a few of the best deals that I see.
There are some good winter deals, but I also see a lot of spring and summer styles.  This could be a great opportunity to get what you need for the summer, or buy the coat one size larger--because my kids always outgrow them halfway through winter when there are no coats to be found.

Some of the best deals I see. Remember, it's an extra 40% off these prices, so that $25 Princess coat will be only $15.

Did you also know that Amazon has free returns if your items don't fit or you don't like them once they arrive?  That makes online clothing shopping a lot less of a risk.

    February 3, 2011

Pay $10, Get $20 at Barnes & Noble +315 SB

This one is hard to write a title that fits. Today's Groupon is $10 for a $20 gift card to Barnes and Noble. If you go through Trial Pay on Swagbucks, you'll also get 315 Swagbucks--3/4 of the way to a $5 Amazon gift card. That's not too shabby!

If you haven't already registered for Groupon, you can do that through me, and I'll get lovely parting gifts for pointing you their way. Swagbucks will also thank me if you haven't yet signed up for them.

If you are already members of both, you can skip right to this link right HERE.

This offer is showing as not available right now, but it should work at least through 8 am tomorrow.  I'd keep checking, I think all the Swaggers broke Groupon temporarily.

Kindle Books and Music FREEBIES for Feb

I always love to get the free stuff, and I know my readers do as well. I post this every month, though the selections change often. You can always hit the big link for bestsellers and see what people are downloading right now.

I'll start with the Kindle bestsellers.  The free bestsellers are in the list on the right, but if you also look on the left, you'll see many books for under $5.  Did you know you don't even have to have a Kindle in order to read these free books?  Amazon has reader apps for many different types of devices.  You can download that HERE--free.

Here are a few of my favorites, but there's the top 100 list above, and many more freebies to be had.

Now, on to the music downloads.  There are the 100 best selling MP3 downloads here, but they also have some other incredible deals for the month.  We have the $5 albums, the $5 past Grammy award winners, 69 cent 80s singles, and the $3.99 and $4.99 whole albums.

    Enjoy!

**oops, guess I skipped  a month.  I just edited the title.

    February Magazine Deals

I have to do the magazine deals every month, because it seems to be a favorite. This month might be one of the better deals I've seen in a while.  There are quite a few good deals, so I'll link to all the deals and then share some of my favorite bargains.
    • To start with, if you spend $20 on any subscription in the magazine store, you'll get $10 back in Amazon promotion code.  This code is only available once per customer.
    • If you purchase Outside magazine ($24 per year) you'll get a $10 code for the sports and outdoor section of Amazon.  I am reading fine print all over to decide if you can get both promotions if you buy a subscription to Outside.
    • Three good lists of magazines and their price points:  The 2 for $15 deals, the 2 for $20 deals (would be only $10 for both of them after the promotion), and the under $8 magazines.
I see some great opportunities!  If you want a few cheap subscriptions, stack them together and save the $10, but there are some subscriptions that never go on sale.  People is the perfect example.  It's expensive, never gets any cheaper, but with this promotion, you'd get $10 off a pretty pricy subscription.  Here are some of my favorite deals, but be sure to look around for what you like.

I will work on the free book and music downloads this afternoon and try to have it up soon.

    Super Sweet Chocolate Deals

You have to read through it all to see how good these deals are. The prices are low because of Valentine's Day, and some have that 15% off with subscribe and save, but everything I'm going to post will get you a $5 Amazon credit--that's right, these items are $5 less than the marked price.  Many of the Ghirardelli items have an additional 10% off.  Some don't have the $5 credit, but some do.

One bit of fine print:  it looks like you will only get one $5 credit per account.
As a Prime member you already receive free Two-Day Shipping, so we will credit $5 to your customer account when you purchase eligible chocolate and gourmet gifting. The $5 will be credited to your account no later than February 18, 2011. This credit can be used towards your next purchase of items sold on Amazon.com and will only apply if you do not cancel or return the chocolate and gourmet gift.

You'll want to make sure that each item you choose has this under the price.

    A Prime Valentine
Purchase select Valentine Gourmet Gifts offered direct from Amazon.com and Amazon Prime members will receive a $5 credit on their account to use on a future purchase. Offer valid only in the U.S. and only on products offered direct from the Amazon.com Collection.

So, check out all the links above to see the details.

Here are the products. Note that these first ones are either four or six bags of chocolate for that price.  These are the ones that are double included, having the sale prices and the $5 back, but check the link for other items that are only in one promotion or the other.

Here are some great looking hot chocolate mixes--again, marked down, subscribe and save, AND the $5 promotion. These are four one pound cans for that price.

Here are a few other good deals I see in this promotion.

Hope this makes someone's day a little sweeter.  I'm eying the 100 calorie packs--with 6 boxes and $5 off, these are great.

    February 1, 2011

    More Great Grocery Deals

The peanut butter got me searching for more great grocery deals, so here are a few of the best I've found.

    •  First, here's the link to all the Unilever products included in the 15% and 15% promotion.  All are eligible for 15% off with S&S, then the extra 15% off with code UNILVR77.
    • Ragu, 4 big jars, just around $1 per jar after all the coupons.
    • Pasta sides, a couple of different varieties, end up around 75 cents per package.  They're nice to have on hand for a quick side when you need it.

There are more deals to be had, but I'm going to have to come back later to share them.

    Skippy Peanut Butter Amazon Deal

You'll want to hit this one fast! Skippy Peanut butter is $11.40 for 6 jars. If you go to the page and choose the Subscribe and Save option, you'll save an additional 15% off that price, bringing them down to $9.69. Use code UNILVR77 to save another 15%. That makes 6 jars of peanut butter only $1.37 each!

When I am stocking up on commonly purchased food items, I have the regular store price, my buy price, and my stock up price.  For our local stores, it hit $1.77 a jar this week, which is at my stock up price.  40 cents less a jar is a great deal.

Deals like this sell out in a hurry, so grab them fast.

$5 Tickets to ISU Women's Basketball

These sound like hot tickets! Through Groupon, choose from two different ISU Women's Basketball games, and get general admission tickets for only $5 each. Youth and student tickets are already $5 each, so you wouldn't need to buy the children's tickets yet.

The dates are Sunday, February 13 against Kansas State and Monday, February 21 against Texas.

If you haven't already signed up for Groupon, you can do that HERE.  If you have already signed up for Groupon, the deal can be found on Groupon's site HERE.  They also have a deal today for half price at Cafe Milo.  It's one of my favorite coffee shops.

If you shop through Swagbucks first, you'll get 280 Swagbucks for this purchase, and my experience has been that they credit immediately after you make your purchase.
